Born in the bustling city of Yokohama, not too far from Japan’s capital city, Tokyo, then growing up in the rural flat-lands of Calgary, Alberta, and finally in Vancouver, British Columbia in late 2005, Seiko brings different cultural backgrounds and experiences into her creative work.
A graduate of Alberta College of Art and Design (ACAD) with a BFA in Media Arts, a Graphic Design certificate from Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT), and a three-year Diploma program, Illustration & Design program (IDEA) at Capilano University, her passion for learning never ends, both in creativity, culture and technology.
During IDEA, Seiko learned the importance of typography, layout, and the strategy behind branding. She also fell in love with packaging, and can’t resist not to analyze the products on the shelves at the grocery store. She enjoys coming up with a logo or wordmark, and although it’s something small, it sets the big picture of the entire company or business.
She currently works at Max Advertising Inc. where most of the clients are real estate developers. She designs logos, postcards, signage, sale centres, brochures, hoardings and websites. Due to copyright reasons, the projects can only be seen on their website at Max Advertising Inc.
She loves dogs, yoga, dancing, music, writing, blogging and reading. She loves learning about different cultures and is fascinated by learning about languages. She would travel more often if she weren’t so afraid of flying!
